Teacher and child-led activities will be touching on all the major areas of development: physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual. We accomplish this through play, circle time, center time, arts and crafts. Each opportunity encourages the child to explore, become self-aware, problem solve, resolve conflict, have personal responsibility, learn to respect themselves and others, and gain self-discipline.

Our preschool curriculum centers around a theme for each week and a letter for the week. A typical week at preschool includes: singing, dancing, arts and crafts, reading, language, math, science, chapel and outside play time. Sometimes we will even cook new recipes together! Students learn about nature, the weather, geography, the calendar, and major holidays.  Show and tell is a favorite activity that helps children build self-esteem and develop public speaking skills.

Patriotism, manners, and safety awareness are also part of the curriculum.  Patriotism includes learning the Pledge of Allegiance. Safety awareness includes fire safety, body safety, and stranger danger.

Snack time creates a wonderful opportunity for developing social skills, manners, exposure to new foods, and time to listen to friends.  A nutritious snack will be provided by the school.

Fall Harvest, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and Easter celebrations are held each year and parent participation is encouraged. It is our goal to give each child a sense of community and belonging.
